Studio Alva | Our Story

Hi, I'm Tom — a French designer and founder of Studio Alva. I started this brand in 2006 with a simple idea: to create sofas that people don’t just sit on, but truly live in.

For me, a sofa has always been more than just a piece of furniture. It's where we slow down, gather, breathe, dream, and recharge. It’s where we take refuge after long days, where conversations unfold, where silence becomes meaningful. That’s the soul I wanted to bring to every piece.

Studio Alva was born from my love of timeless shapes, soft textures, and interiors that feel as good as they look. I’ve always believed in design that lasts — not just physically, but emotionally too. Our pieces are made to age gracefully, to become part of your daily rituals, to follow your rhythm.

Each sofa we create is sculptural in form but grounded in real comfort. We use only high-quality, durable materials and collaborate with skilled makers who share our passion for detail, balance, and quiet beauty.

Almost two decades later, Studio Alva has grown, but our philosophy remains the same: design slow, live well, and make room for what matters.
